Many different Illinois State University departments, offices, and organizations award scholarships each year. Much like scholarship processes outside the University, each individual scholarship provider decides how, when, and to whom their scholarships are awarded.
Illinois State awards highly competitive, merit-based scholarships to new students with exceptional academic talent. For best consideration for these awards, complete your application for admission during the preferred filing period (September 1 - November 15). For more information on Admission scholarships, please contact the Office of Admissions at (309) 438-2181 or toll-free at (800) 366-2478 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Five McLean County students will win four years of free tuition based on the student’s leadership, community service, and civic engagement in this county. Available to new freshmen, each of these scholarships carries a present-day value of $50,000.
New freshmen or transfer students who have a parent or grandparent that graduated from Illinois State will receive a $500 scholarship each year for up to four years.
Many academic departments also award their own scholarships, usually based on a student’s major, background, or other criteria. You may also inquire with your academic advisor.
